Gevrey-Chambertin, “les Evocelles”

These vines have the best location of all village appellations in Gevrey-Chambertin. The vines are situated on the slope right next to the Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, les Champeaux. The vines are very old, close to 100 years of age. Very aromatic and perfumed, this is a wine which ages well.

Silken, seamless burgundy with impressive purity and an almost ethereal texture. It's difficult to describe the principal aromas in a wine that offers such a complex array of very subtle characters but it has a discernible floral/violet influence with red cherry and a suggestion of fresh herbs.
