The 2018 Central Otago Pinot Noir has a lifted bouquet of sweet violet, a touch of oak spice and layers of fragrant black cherries and red berries.
These aromas flow into the vibrant palate. Finely grained tannins and bright acidity are beautiful balanced and together with the fruit aromas deliver a joyful, lively wine with soft mouthfeel and lingering length.
This Pinot Noir is a great example of a young wine ready to drink now, but with the potential to grow into an elegant wine, representing the stunning 2018 vintage.
Active and careful vineyard management is vital for growing quality grapes. Good grapes make good wine and 2018 vintage was no exception. Hawkshead Pinot Noir is aged for 11 months in French oak barrels with 25% new oak. Drinking beautifully now, and can be cellared for 5 - 7 years.
