The 2019 growing season produced some exceptional fruit but was a roller coaster ride! Although warm overall, it started with frosts in early Spring and even a blanketing of snow for Gibbston in November. March and April provided a long steady ripening period, with some late frosts towards the tail end of harvest.
Crafted from hand-picked Pinot Noir, the grapes were given a brief period of skin contact to extract just the perfect amount of colour. A gentle whole bunch pressing and a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel followed to retain and preserve the delicate attributes of Pinot Noir.
This elegant ballet slipper pink Rosé opens with vibrant aromatics of watermelon, strawberry shortcake and crème brûlée. The palate follows with delightfully crisp flavours of crab apple, sherbet and succulent red berries, with a refreshingly dry finish.
A wonderful apéritif and versatile food match, this Rosé is best enjoyed with good company.
