With vineyards and homes in Central Otago, and Burgundy, Domaine-Thomson are dedicated to making a Burgundian style of Pinot Noir in two hemispheres that express the individual terroir of each region.
The 14ha vineyard in Lowburn, Central Otago (NZ) is Certified Organic (Bio-Gro NZ) and farmed under strict biodynamic practices.
The grapes that go into our Explorer wine primarily come from the top terrace Moon Block (altitude 295m), 100% estate grown and handpicked. Stylistically, we are trying to place our more youthful vines into this wine as they tend to have a natural fruit driven exuberance which we wish to retain.
