Complex red fruit dominates, with ripe Doris plum, fleshy sweet cherry pie, cranberry, with wet rock undertones. A medium bodied, deliciously light yet intense expression of Pinot Noir. Very fine, with charming texture and flow, lovely fresh strawberry, clean acidity, and dry sweet fennel. The finish has fine silky tannins, but the overall impression is of elegance and silky beauty.
The 2010 vintage presented us with a long growing season allowing the fruit to ripen well and catch the best of the late autumn sun. Hawkshead Pinot Noir is aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (30% new).
