The slightly slower ripening of vines in the Gibbston Valley enhances the development of colour and flavour. Gibbston wines shine through intense floral, perfumed notes and hints of sweet spice.
These older vines deliver a complex wine with an amalgam of fragrant rose petals and earth aromatics. Every year it shows more fruit power and a distinct Gibbston piquancy. Attractive red cherry, violets and sweet spice combined with silky tannins excite the palate.
2009 vintage presented us a long growing season allowing the fruit to ripen well and catch the best of the late autumn sun. We crop lightly at 4 tonnes per hectare for well ripened and even fruit. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak Barrels (40% new).
