The slightly slower ripening of vines in the Gibbston Valley enhances the development of colour and flavour. Gibbston wines shine through intense floral, perfumed notes and hints of sweet spice.
These older vines deliver a complex wine with rich roasted plum, sweet spice, and cinnamon notes on the nose. The wine is deep and richly textured, with layers of generous fine sweet plummy fruit, dark and serious, yet very seductive and seamless. It has a really ripe generous palate; silken and fragrant.
2010 vintage presented us a long growing season allowing the fruit to ripen well and catch the best of the late autumn sun. We crop lightly at 4 tonnes per hectare for well ripened and even fruit. The wine is aged for 11 months in French oak Barrels (40% new).
